Man died after being bitten by a wolf
A brief tale from Meldal’s local history book.

In 1720, in the community of Meldal in Trøndelag, Norway, Vellik Andersson died at the age of 37 after being bitten by a wild wolf. He was buried on 8 September 1720.
Vellik was the son of Anders and Mildri, tenants at the farm Nordvoll, and was the eldest of six siblings. He married Marit Skarålia in 1716. During their short marriage, they had a daughter, Maria, and a son, also named Vellik, who was born in the year his father died.
Maria married Halvar Eriksson Stensflott in 1743, and she, too, named her firstborn son Vellik.
